Áraien Bascome, LMSW, CPC
I am a Licensed Master Social Worker and Certified Professional Life Coach passionate about creating spaces where individuals can support and strengthen one another - whether they be in 1-on-1 formats or community support spaces.
My endeavors hail from an intersectionally feminist, anti-oppressive, and non-pathologizing perspective of mental health, neuro-diversity, and social responsibility.
I believe strongly in the ability (and necessity) of community to heal the wounds we develop over the course of our lifetimes - whether that *community* means chosen or origin family, affinity groups, geographically defined groups that have taken on the responsibility of caring for one another, or some other mutual care group.
In short, I don't believe in broken people needing to be fixed. I believe that broken systems and toxic conditions can affect people in ways that breed social and emotional distress. My goal in working with clients is to help them process, heal, and develop the tools to regain their agency in the face of life's difficult circumstances.
